Irish political parties euroscepticism analysis

Ireland is generally seen as one of the biggest supporters of the European Union. Irish public opinion researches have been showing long-term and extremely positive attitudes to the European integration. The pro-European consensus is also known among the local political parties. Moreover, at the end of the 20th century, a strong economic growth had started and the Ireland quickly became a model example of how positive impact the European integration may have on its Member states. European issues therefore did not attract too much attention in the local political discourse. This changed in the early 21st century, when the increasing public euroscepticism began observable. The thesis examines whether selected Irish political parties adapted their rhetoric and actions to ever more critical mood of voters. These are Fianna Fáil, Fine Gael and the Green Party. The thesis covers three critical moments of the Irish European integration, namely the Nice Treaty, the Lisbon Treaty and the Irish debt crisis. It searches for negative comments about the EU and European integration of examined political parties in the campaigns before the referendum on European issues, as well as in their election statements to the Irish parliamentary elections, also taking place in the selected period. The corruption rate in the Czech Republic: Government's political solutions in 2010-2017

The bachelor thesis "The corruption rate in the Czech Republic: Government's political solutions in 2010-2017" deals with anti-corruption policy at the governmental level. The first part pays attention to corruption from a theoretical point of view. The analytical part focuses on the activities of governments in the fight against corruption as well as on the development of Corruption Perception Index (CPI) in the monitored period. During years 2010-2017 there were four governments in the Czech Republic, including two caretaker ones. Jan Fischer's government did not explicitly determine anti-corruption policy objectives, so they acted according to current need. Caretaker government of Jiří Rusnok acted similarly, because in addition this cabinet lost vote of confidence in the Chamber of Deputies. In contrast to it, the government of Petr Nečas called itself "A Coalition of Budgetary Responsibility, the Rule of Law and the Fight against Corruption". Corruption has been one of the main topics of the Coalition Agreement and the Government's Program Statement, on which were based two anti- corruption strategies. Government concept of the fight against corruption from 1999 to the present

This thesis is dedicated to government anti-corruption struggle in the period from 1999 to present. The key objective is to evaluate which of the measures specified in the government policies were fulfilled and if they have a real impact on reducing the scope for corruption. The theoretical part explains the concept of corruption and the basis of the various typologies of this concept. Following the demarcation of motives for corrupt behavior and the costs associated with this behavior, then I allude to various ways of measuring corruption used in the Czech environment. Next chapter focuses on the definition of corruption from the perspective of criminal law whereas links to crimes with signs of corruption. In the practical part are incorporated findings from previous chapters to evaluate the government's anti-corruption policies within a specified period. The conclusion analyzes the nuanced measures which government has overlooked and also assesses the priorities of particular parts of Anti-Corruption Barometer, which are not sufficiently applied in the Czech Republic.
